The Software Fix Is In
Thursday, January 22, 2009 - ProductMan
Our engineers might not have the cure for the winter blues or whatever flu bug seems to be spreading like wildfire this week, but they definitely have the prescription for those recent snags in our software. Thanks in part to your valuable feedback, our diligent development team has ironed out a few of those annoying minor glitches. You can take advantage of the fixes outlined below by installing our latest software update.
Special Characters:
You might not be a special character, but if your name features special characters outside the bounds of the standard alphabet, you may have experienced difficulties registering your name correctly. Our servers will now accept names that include a space, hyphen, or apostrophe. If your surname is O’Brien, Zeta Jones, Parker-Bowles, or anything else for that matter, we’ve now got you covered. You shouldn’t have to give up your roots and change your name—and now you don’t have to.
Tournament Listings:
You might have noticed that information for some completed tournaments was displayed incorrectly. Despite being completed, some tournaments erroneously showed remaining players and active running times.
We are pleased to report that details for all completed tournaments are now up to date and will be accurately displayed in real time.
We’re dedicated to making sure our poker software is second to none. If you experience any issues or have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to let us know. Feel free to contact support or post your comments below. We always welcome your valuable feedback.

Hi,
I was just in a freeroll (4055221) and was told by another user (SLICK242) that he can see others hole cards by cursoring over their names. We changed tables before I could test if he could see my cards, but I followed him to another table and he says he still can.
Was wondering if this was possible? or is he just pulling my leg. If so, I thought you should know about it.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Knowmaad

Hi Knowmaad,
SLICK42 was simply joking with you. One of our primary concerns is software security and we pride ourselves on being on par with the best poker software in the world. While I can’t blame you for being alarmed at SLICK42’s comments, I can assure you, SLICK42 could not view hole cards. You were correct to assume SLICK42 was joking.
That being said, thank you kindly for reaching out to us with a matter that concerned you. We encourage this from our users so that we can assist with a personal touch, as timely as possible.
Good Luck Knowmaad!

It did not in fact, and yet another e-mail from a few days ago has gone unanswered. My simple question is why can’t you update the download on the website to be the current software version. 3 weeks later and still the old version.

Hi Quantock,
I just spoke with Customer Service. They have looked into your issue and are going to contact you directly to ensure a thorough and speedy resolution.

Admin,
Thanks for your response about slick424 saying he could see hole cards. I thought he was pulling my leg, but was trying to play it safe.
Also,
Thank you and the software team for making the ‘bet it’ button work when ‘disable enter to bet’ was checked.
Hoped you would get to that sooner or later.
I know the software team has had a lot on their plates, before, during and after the cereus upgrade. Nice to see things are getting addressed.
Thanks again!
Knowmaad
