Blind Rule Fix
Friday, April 24, 2009 - ProductMan
The wheels are always in motion at UltimateBet. Our gaming software is constantly evolving, but it isn’t a work in progress. Our developers not only make a habit of burning the midnight oil to deliver brand spanking new features, but they are always on the clock ready to right any sudden glitches that might surface.
Players will notice that the rules for blinds now correctly follow the rules in brick and mortar poker rooms.
We addressed the following issues in our recent update:
• Players will no longer be able to enter a table and play on the small blind.
• In one case, Player A was accidentally forced to post two big blinds in a row after Player B left the table when it was his turn to post the big blind, only to reemerge on the next hand. Based on our rules, there should have been a dead blind and Player B should have been charged again to auto post. We’ve fixed this issue to prevent rat holing.
• We resolved logic issues during tournament play when a player went all-in but could not afford the big blind.
You can see the logic behind our blind rule changes. Check out the rules for posting blinds at http://www.ultimatebet.com/poker-rules.
Glitch got you down? Have suggestions for our software? Feel free to contact support@ultimatebet.com or post your comments right into the blog.

It’s good that you guys fix problems. It’s good that you add new features. What’s not good is that you do it in a piecemeal, ad hoc fashion.
For the last month or so, it seems that every time I drop in to play a few hands of poker, I first have to sit through five minutes of software downloads. I don’t come here to stare at the screen while your latest and greatest makes its way across the airwaves. I come here to play cards. Or, at least, that was the idea.
I just escaped out of my last session when it — again — insisted I get new software from ya’ll. I know you need to improve things; but honestly, guys, you can’t push out new releases every 48 freaking hours.
You can’t continue to waste my time and expect me to return.

let me first say i dont mind my favorite place to play poker even beter for the few seconds it takes to dwn load.heh you guys work hard enough to bring us an excellent game i can wait for it to load! one of the biggest reasons i love ultimate bet though is the hot keys! it so convenient when im doing other things online.what i would like to suggest is an update to preselect with the hot keys. example,im muti tasking on my pc and im in position 9 and a new hand is being dealt.the bored pops up so im ready to play, there’s a few players really taking there time playing there hand and i gotta wait to select my play. with an update for pre selection of choices i can make my play and go doing what i was doing…i would really love to see this in a future update. also the enter to bet and chat can we separate the two? i don’t know how many times ive lost a big pot because of this.even though you can turn it off it is still a lesser of to evils..im sure you guys can come up with something but all and all thanks for a great program!ultimate bet is and will continue to be my fav place to play poker!
ty again! muckinriver
