Seven From Heaven
Friday, October 9, 2009 - Gene Bromberg
Apologies for the lack of updates, the internet hiccuped again and we couldn’t gain access (though you can follow UB on Twitter, that’s always worked down here). After Charlie Hook went out 10th and John Clancy was eliminated in 9th there was another long period where play settled down until Ryan Schmidt was knocked out in 8th place. Schmidt lost a race with Ace-King to Eric Baldwin’s pocket sixes to see his Aruba Poker Classic come to an end.

Now, we were supposed to play until we were six-handed, but the players quickly talked it over and decided that they want to come back tomorrow and play seven-handed at the final table. So, that’s what we’re going to do. We’ll return to action tomorrow at noon (the stage over the Radisson pool is almost complete) and see who is crowned the champion of the 2009 Aruba Poker Classic.
Here are the seven players who remain and their chip counts at the end of play:
Robert Mizrachi– 1,980,000
Eric Baldwin– 1,570,000
Chase Steely– 1,300,000
Brock Parker– 1,240,000
Brandon Hall– 442,000
Matt Ross– 301,000
Roberto Santos– 211,000
