6 days left before the first ever blogger tournament on UB on December 17th. Easiest entry ever. One-hundred bucks plus an entry into the new GIZMO tournaments. Read the blogger tournament details here and use the password “UBblog” to register for the tournament. Tell your friends, your brother, and two neighbors.

32 players registered for the tournament as of last night. Easy money, maybe. I don’t really have a bounty, but my track record doesn’t exactly shine. So, search me out and you’re likely to get some chips. My playername starts with arig… and I’m already registered. Who’s up for the challenge?

We’d talked about setting up the blogger tourney. With the initial momentum of the UB blog it’s definitely time to get it going, so looks like the first one will be December 17th. Anyone interested in some free prizes? Want to make history and be a part of the first blogger tournament on UB?
–> December 17th – $100 prize pool plus entry into the GIZMO main event on December 19th for all final table players… GIZMO tourneys are coming to UB starting December 12th. They offer gear tournaments for UltimatePoints, from plasma screens to furniture, anything goes. For this first one it’ll include a SONY VAIO computer, SONY Blu Ray, a portable DVD player, and some UB gear.
Login to the UB client and look for the tournament in the client lobby, under the “Scheduled Tournaments” tab and then as a “Special” tournament. The tournament is called “UB Blog Tournament”
How to qualify?
Very easy. Just login before December 17th and use the password “UBblog” to register for the tournament. Tell your friends. They can use the password too. Check back on the blog for other free tournaments and upcoming blogger tournaments.
Easy enough. Not complicated and some good giveaways included. Great value for any poker player especially at the start with fewer people playing. And GIZMO’s, what can I say, brilliant. One week an HP touchscreen computer, another week a leather football-shaped chair.

To pick up where we left off last week, we’ve decided to hold off on launching the bloggers tournament for the time being. As you may have noticed, there have been a few changes around here so this week didn’t result in the response necessary to make decisions about the tournament structures. We would still like to hear your suggestions for a bloggers only tournament though!
For example, what type of format would you like to see? How can we create an enticing prize structure? Should we use tangible prizes or reward winners with seats at the 200K weekly tourney? Or is cash the most appealing option? If we set up a blog based tournament where all you had to do was come here to get the information, would you play?
Let’s here your thoughts and put together a tournament built around your suggestions.

All of us here in the card room would like to extend a warm welcome to all you poker players out there! We’re very excited that we now have the ability to communicate directly to our players what’s happening in the card room, what unique promotions we have coming down the pipe, analysis of our major tournament and ring games along with gathering your feedback and fostering discussion so that we might be able to fine tune what makes us a big player in the world of poker. Along with managing the nuts and bolts of our ring game and tournament offerings, the Card Room is where all the great ideas from our marketing department, our pros and players like you get put into action. One idea floating around right now is a ‘bloggers only’ tournament which, as the title indicates, would be a special tournament posted just for our UB bloggers out there. Details still need to be worked out but some ideas we’re thinking of are “one week it could be for people that have a blog that is more than a year old that has this blog in their blogroll”, “one week it could be bloggers who’ve put posted on their own site about why they want to play in the UB bloggers only tournament, and then put a link to this blog”, “one week we select at random from bloggers who’ve commented on this blog”. Let’s get a discussion started on this one. We’d especially like your feedback on how the structure and style of tournament you’d like to see and any other suggestions you might have. Check back frequently for card room news, promos and updates and we’ll see you at the tables!
