It’s logical to introduce changes that improve our site. That’s why we’ve redesigned our raise logic. Log on to UltimateBet right now and you’ll see that our raise button is now labeled “raise to”. When you want to raise to a desired amount, you won’t have to factor your initial bet into the equation, which is already on the table. That’s right! You can simply enter the amount you wish to raise to and click on the “raise to” button.
You may recall that if you wished to raise before, while already having a bet in front of you, you would first need to determine the amount you wished to bet before subtracting the amount already in front of you. Our new raise logic now let’s you decide how much you’d like to bet, and you can just enter the amount, which will be your full bet.
We’ve introduced this change thanks to your valuable feedback and to bring our game in line with industry standards. If there’s anything else you’d like to see, then please let us know. You can post your suggestions right into the blog. Don’t forget to check this space regularly f the latest news, promos, and all things poker.

This is huge, or at least hugely convenient. We’ve heard your pleas and we’re proud to bring Synchronized Breaks to our Multi-Table tourneys. Now everyone at our Multi-Table Tournaments can count on a 5-minute break at the 55th minute of every hour.
Whether you want to grab a snack, hit the bathroom, recharge, or plot your next move, you’ll love the flexibility that our Synchronized Breaks offer. You shouldn’t have to miss a hand or drag your laptop to the bathroom—and now you don’t!
Synchronized breaks for multi-table tournaments take place at the 55th minute of every hour with some exceptions. If a tourney begins at 10:30 and has the Synchronized Breaks feature enabled, the tournament will go on break at 10:55, but all hands will be completed before the break begins. Once all hands are completed, all players get a 5-minute break. After the 5-minute break is over, the tournament will start. Since breaks can happen a few minutes apart, some tourneys might resume before others.
If you play in multiple tourneys that have synchronized breaks enabled, you’ll get one break for all tourneys. Not all tournaments have synchronized breaks. Check the lobby to see if this feature is enabled in your favorite tournament.
You can find compete details right here. As always, let us know what you think. What will you do with your break?

The UltimateBet Online Championship is in the pipeline and you can expect it to be massive. You’ll love playing in a championship poker event from your easy chair, or wherever you like to play. We’re making some major changes this year and we’d love to get your feedback on how to improve our tournaments. Let us know how you feel about our structure, schedule, or anything else tourney-related. Do you think our tournaments would be better suited to some other time during the day? How do you feel about the blind levels?
We’ll also be launching tons of new tournament features, so stay tuned. While we’re talking about tourneys, did you know that we’re running a tournament that will award one lucky player 2 tickets to UFC 106 in Las Vegas. The ultimate prize package includes cash for travel and accommodations. Witness Lesnar defend his title against Carwin in November courtesy of UB.

The Aruba Poker Classic is officially over and we’ve crowned our new Main Event winner, Brandon Hall. Elliot Smoth won our Mercedes Sit & Go. It got down to three players, one being our very own Poker Ho. Congratulations to both players for their remarkable achievement and a special thank you to all the players that made their way to Aruba. We look forward to next year and hope everyone can make it back.
We also got some very much needed feedback during the event. We set up numerous focus groups with different players and appreciated their incredible input. We’re sifting through all the data right now and then we can begin developing a lot of the features that players requested. We’ll be releasing an automatic chop feature, enhanced hand history re-player, and an improved time bank very soon, but that’s only the beginning.
If you couldn’t make it to Aruba or were too busy partying to connect with us, this is your chance to let us know how you feel and what you’d like to see.
We always love hearing from you. What would you like to see added or improved? Post your feedback into the blog and help us build an even better UltimateBet.

What a week it’s been in Aruba. The main event started back on Monday and the action hasn’t taken even a brief breather. We had 475 players register for this year’s main event, which means that 1st place will bank $750k when it’s all said in done. With other cash events during the week, plenty of players will be leaving with way more than they came with. The Main Event final table happens tomorrow, but tonight is going to be massive. Stay tuned for pics from Phil Helmuth’s Penthouse Suite party!
If you didn’t make it to Aruba, hopefully we’ll see you next year. Of course we run phenomenal events all year long, so you won’t have to wait a whole year to live out your poker fantasies.
We have good news for all our online players, too. We’ve been gathering tons of feedback in Aruba and we’re ready to roll out amazing new features and tweaks that will make UltimateBet better than ever.

I know it doesn’t start until tomorrow, but I think it is pretty safe to call the 2009 Aruba Poker Classic the party of the decade. Obviously there’s only 3 months left in this particular decade, but we’re talking about endless poker action, tropical weather, non-stop parties, cool players, major money, and unfathomable surprises.
Of course, it isn’t all fun and games for UB staffers, who will be getting down to business in paradise. We’ll be making sure everything runs seamlessly and outstandingly! Our events are always a great opportunity to meet face to face with our players. We’ll be socializing and gathering feedback to make the entire UB experience even better. Feel free to let us know what you think. You can even post your comments and opinions into the blog. I’m guessing you brought your laptop!
If you’re staying on the mainland, you can follow all the action right here.
Check out the schedule and enjoy all the latest news, photos, video, and comments from poker paradise.

Security is a safe bet at UltimateBet. We’re constantly making improvements to stay way ahead of the curve. We’ve just added an optional layer of security that will keep unauthorized users out of your account. It’s called the SecureID PIN and it works a lot like the PIN you use with your debit or check card.
If you setup this feature, you’ll be required to enter your new SecureID PIN when you login to your UltimateBet account. After entering your username and password, a second authorization window will request your SecureID PIN.
If your account is ever inactive for more than 30 minutes you’ll need to re-enter your SecureID PIN, but not your username and password.
If you already have a UB account, you can set up the SecureID PIN feature from the game client. Just choose “Update Profile” from the “My Account” menu and then click on the SecureID PIN link.

You can always disable the SecureID PIN from the cashier. Select “Update Profile” from the “My Account” menu and then click on the SecureID PIN link.
In order to further foil unauthorized users, you won’t be able to request a new SecureID PIN on your own. You’ll need to contact UB Security and verify your identity before they’ll send a new randomly generated SecureID PIN.

I feel like writing an obituary for the summer that never was, but why dwell on the past, especially when talking about the weather. Even if it is still technically summer, autumn is where the action is, especially with no shortage of major happenings at UltimateBet. Do you realize that we’re only three weeks from the 2009 Aruba Poker Classic?
If you want to win your way to paradise, then you should probably get on that right now. It isn’t too late to win your $8,500 Aruba prize package, unless you are reading this from the archives. Aruba is always mind-blowing, but this is going to be the kind of party that redefines the word massive. Play in what is easily the best poker tournament on the tour while you party under the sun with tons of pros.
We’re always treating you like a pro at UltimateBet. We’ve made some changes to RAI$E, our industry-leading loyalty program, and players will now earn up to 31% on their cash. You’ll now be awarded UltimatePoints based on your level of activity on the site, which will be fairer to our players.
Even if you haven’t made a deposit, you can now earn UltimatePoints. If you’ve earned cash through promotions or freerolls, you will now accumulate UltimatePoints when playing in our real money games.
Feel free to post your Aruba fantasies into the blog, but you should probably keep it respectable.

There’s some major action at the apple orchard today. If you have a Mac computer, you probably lined up at the Apple Store this morning to purchase Snow Leopard, the latest version of Mac’s operating system. There’s a barrel of new features and a new rock solid core that’s faster and more stable than ever.
Even if you aren’t into bobbing for apple operating systems, we have something stellar coming up. We will be introducing UB-Mac, an impressive Mac version of our UB software. Poker players who’ve dared to think different, won’t have to boot into unstable Windows mode to hit the UB tables.
With UB-Mac, you’ll be able to play all the ring games we offer in our PC version, as well as single and multi-table Hold’em tournaments and single player blackjack.
