Hey All,
The craziness continues! Ever since I went to PokerNews Alpine Cup in Austria I haven’t stopped. Now I am coming to you live from Aruba!
There are some really good things planned for the APC 2009. As I have said previously, there will be 3 parties, lots of pros and some pretty good POKER! The schedule will be pretty similar to last year, which was so player friendly. If you wanted to play throughout the night it wasn’t at a scheduled tournament here at the Aruba Poker Classic. This year we have added in a 6 handed 2k No Limit Holdem and that is scheduled for Friday the 9th of October.
My next stop on the calendar was meant to be home – Australia and I wanted to head home the 1st week of May and since that is next week I can’t realistically see it happening! Seriously, where is this year going? It is hard to believe that I will be in Vegas within 3 weeks. On the Upside, our home in Vegas will be the MGM Grand. Come by, pick up your swag, register for the numerous promotions and have a drink. Go to the front desk and ask for the “Phil Hellmuth” Skyloft suite.
We will be having weekly happy hours in the “Phil Hellmuth” Skyloft, more details to follow shortly. Also the MGM have given us a great discount to off our players and we will send out that information in an email. To help you get back and forth from the Rio we will have a shuttle service. 2009 is going to be a great year at the WSOP for us and you.

Hey All,
I WANT TO GO BACK! Who knew I would be a snow bunny, after all I am a city chick? I am now back at home and I miss the vistas of Hinterglemm:(.
I guess I wouldn’t want to live in it for an entire winter, but for a week or 2, it would be perfect. I am putting my hand up for next year already. For a couple of our younger qualifiers AIRKID3 (AP) and PAUL426 (UB), this was the first time they had qualified for a land based event, and after many discussions, they have truly been spoilt as this was their ever live event. Me, personally, I have been to more than I can remember and I feel spoilt!
KUDOS72OFF (AP) was the one player we were most proud of as he made the final table of the Pokernews Alpine Cup…Yeah Kudos! This was his first live final table and he came in a healthy 8th. Not bad for a 19 year old who can’t even drink at home. I know he can drink as he was last seen bringing an entire bottle of Jagermeister down to the lobby and I swear that bottle did not last 20 minutes. On our last night we all sat down at the poker table and Kudos took my money when his K’s held up against my J’s. All was forgiven when I sat down and played for him and made him a few hundred euros.
These 3 players – KUDOS72OFF (AP), AIRKID3 (AP) and PAUL426 (UB) all want to go to the Aruba Poker Classic. Kudos was instrumental in convincing them as he was at the APC 2008 at the tender age of 18. These trips are awesome as they breed new friendships and it is a bonus to be able to that in a different country. I hope to see them all in Aruba in October.

Hey Everyone,
I have a first for you in 2009…the dates for the APC (Aruba Poker Classic) have been set! The dates are going to be Saturday October 3rd to Saturday October 10th. We have moved the dates slightly so we don’t clash with the WSOPE and this year Phil may even take a seat and won’t be blinded out!
Last year was my first time that I attended the APC and I loved it. I don’t know if anyone, could possibly not have a good time there. The weather, resort, beach, lizards, POKER and Aruba aribas = PERFECT, what more can I say? The tournament is once again being held at the Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino and Spa located in beautiful Palm Beach, Aruba (even that sounds relaxing to me:))
The 2008 APC saw players, partners, friends and all our Pros, attending 2 parties, the 1st one being the opening party which was held on the beach and the 2nd party was the closing event held around the pool where Pearl and Scott Ian played live on stage suspended over the pool. Most of the invitees ended up in the pool. There was a 3rd party which was invite only and that was Phil’s VIP bash up in his penthouse. There was plenty of French bubbles flowing and we all rocked to the live music of Pearl and Scott. I can definitely promise these 3 events will feature again in 2009 and it will be bigger and better.
UltimateBets’ Aruba Poker Classic website will be updated very shortly and everything you need to know will be on this site. The big question will be - can Matt Brady hang on to his 2008 bracelet? I am sure there are going to a lot of players trying to get to that number 1 spot. There are going to be some great deals for players coming across to Aruba, including flights and accommodation.
