Some people might think playing poker it is just a matter of saying: I call, I raise or I fold. I guess all that people have never played poker as you and I, along with millions of online and live Poker players know that it is a tough job not so many can handle. You might be thinking, what is this guy talking about? Oh well, let me explain you.
Basically I have a couple of reasons to blog about this. The first will be that the other day I was talking to this VIP customer over the phone that was playing more than 15 tournaments at the same time. I know this is a regular for you guys but still amazing to many others like me, who doesn’t live from Poker.
This customer told me that he was already tired and he wanted to take a break, but sitting out was not an option so he kept playing for 3 hours more… impressive, that’s all I have to say. I guess you´ve been there before and I admire you. That’s what I call a poker lover.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot the second reason! Ultimate Bet and the CEREUS poker network just introduced a great feature specially created for those who play zillions of tourneys at the same time like you: exactly! The now famous Synchronized Breaks.
Synchronized Breaks is the answer to that question you have been asking yourself during the last week. Yes, the one that says: Why is it that all my tourneys are going on break at the same time every single hour? I am glad this blog is helping you somehow.
It is a pretty simple feature but more important a helpful one. From now on, the majority of Multi Table tournaments within the CEREUS network will go on break at the 55th minute of every hour. It doesn’t matter if the game started 25 or 55 minutes ago, they all will go on break at this specific minute. And do not worry about it; all hands will be completed before the break starts.
Some important details I suggest you double check, such as: this is not an add-ons break, can be reviewed by clicking here. Or you can always give us a call at any time you want and we will address any question you might have.
I am so glad now the 15 tournaments VIP guy will be able to at least go to the bathroom or to take a smoke break or to grab a snack. It really doesn’t matter what you do, as soon as it takes 4:59 minutes.
So, now that you are more than aware of this new feature Ultimate Bet introduced due to your demand, help us out by spreading out the word with your poker buddies. I am sure many of them have been waiting for this glorious 5 minute breaks.
I am finishing a little different this time….. Take a Break! J

So finally the Race Cards is in the final few days and people are working hard to secure their spot in the rankings. I fell down to 9th place after a couple guys have been going very hard to move up the ladder. One stand out player DURZAAAA went from 11th place all the way to 3rd and looking to win it all. I gotta give him credit for working very hard and blowing by me and many others. Even with my 9th place finish I will profit a lot of money during this 2 month period – I was a slight winner in SNG’s during this race, and made another 7k in MTT’s…I’m glad the race is over though so I can relax a little bit and get some golf in. The race cards promotion has been a huge hit for players and I’m sure Cereus has done very well in terms of profitability by offering this to us. It’s a win win for all that are invovled, and hopefully the Cereus network will continue to provide the best promotions on the internet to their players. GL to everyone in the race and see you in the next one!

If you believe the calendar, this year has been whipping by at warp speed. Can you believe it is May already? I’m not really participating in any May Day festivities this year, not that I completely understand what that even entails, but it doesn’t really matter. I’m actually saving myself for a more significant anniversary in a few weeks. Later this month we’ll be unofficially celebrating a major milestone at UltimateBet, the six-month anniversary of the CEREUS poker network launch.
Late last autumn we ushered in a new era, creating a poker powerhouse. Over the past six months we’ve delivered better promotions, larger jackpots, bigger guarantees, and enhanced software with no end of new features to a growing UltimateBet community. But let’s face it: our site is nothing without you.
We’re glad you joined us for the ride, but we’re committed to making things better. Do you have any mind-blowing ideas to enhance our software and your time at the tables? Maybe you have some minor pet peeves that you’d like to get off your chest? We want to know where things stand whenever you take a seat at our tables.
This isn’t a cry for help. It’s more like sitting at a crossroads and we want you to map our route. Our software is always evolving and we are all about your feedback. Post your comments, desires, tips, ideas, quibbles, and thoughts directly into the blog. This is your chance to have your voice heard.

Unbelievable, isn’t?
Much to mention, and much to talk about… First major thing is that the UB Marketing team would like to congratulate Scott Ian for his amazing performance on the Sunday $200k Guaranteed. With a field of over 1000 players Scott achieved to make it to the final table and end up the tournament with a 3 player deal from which he walked away with over $30.000. Amazing performance and best wishes in his future tournaments!!
Huge news from the CEREUS network, and that is that we have already qualified over 50 players to this year’s WSOP Main Event. Chances are still available through our Step tourneys and every Sunday we are guaranteeing 1 seat @ our $530 satellite.
Last night our popular Wednesday $1000+50 event had some major online pro action. This tournament is getting more popular everyday due to the high profile players that usually play it. Proof of it, yesterday Shaun Deeb aka Tedsfishfry took down the event and cashed an approx. of $40.000.
Our jackpot was recently hit like 3 times in less than 4 days, the biggest it got was $800.000 and every day our jackpot tables are getting more popular. You can find them from the lowest to the highest stakes depending on your style of play and who knows; a bad beat could end up rewarding you thousands of dollars.
Thanks for paying us a visit and remember to check http://www.ultimatebet.com/poker-promotion for our latest promotions. For our Blackjack players we have some juicy prices this month to the player who achieves the most blackjacks during the day, so check the promo page and learn of the exciting prizes we have for you for the following weeks.

The “Favorite Seat” feature is designed to change the perspective of your position at the table. Since this feature does not actually remove players from their seats, the small blind, big blind, and dealer buttons remain unaffected.
You can choose your favorite seat option by going to the “Options” menu at the tables and clicking on the “My Favorite Seat” button. When a window with all the seat options appears, click on your favorite one. You can also undo your choice by clicking on your old seat. Be sure to click OK to save your settings.
This option will take effect once you enter a new table. If you are sitting at a table, and change the settings, you will not be taken to the preferred seat until you enter another table. These settings will apply to nine seat tables only.
Alternatively, you can right click on the seat you wish to use. When a new window appears, select the “sit here” option.
Please check out about this feature by following the link below: http://www.ultimatebet.com/cereus-features
Please send us any question or suggestion that you may have to support@ultimatebet.com

On the eve of Valentine’s Day, I’m going to declare my love for robots. Maybe love isn’t the right word, but it is more than a casual fascination. From cartoon robots that are engineered to bend and befriend to shape shifting cyborgs that can travel through time and walk through walls, I can’t resist robot charm. I’ll even settle for that robotic vacuum cleaner that’s all the rage these days. I think robots remind me that the future has arrived.
But all robots aren’t created equal. I’m certainly not a fan of robocall, the annoying and justifiably controversial telemarketing robot that is seemingly programmed to interrupt my dinner. Even more troubling are those automated computer poker players known as BOTS.
BOTS are designed to compete against human poker players either as legitimate opponents or as a form of cheating. Unlike the game of chess, where no information is concealed from players or observers, poker is a game of imperfect information. In poker some cards are concealed, making it impossible for a computer to figure out the exact state the game is in.
If you browse popular poker forums, you’ll find no shortage of opinions on BOTS. Whether you love them or hate them, their use is on the rise. Poker sites are constantly improving their detection techniques to stamp out BOTS, but they are just like mosquitoes. You may zap a few of them, but there are always more waiting around the corner.
At Ultimatebet we have no patience for BOTS and consider their use cheating. If you can’t use them in a live environment game, using them online is cheating, pure and simple. If you are playing against a human, you should have an equal opportunity to gain the same information. We also strive to foster a sense of community, where live players can chat and interact naturally.
If you are caught using BOTS on the Cereus Network, you will face the consequences of permanent account closure and confiscation of funds. You have been warned.

One of the things I love most about online poker is that you can play by your own rules. I’m not going to pretend that you can magically transform a pair of twos into a lucrative royal flush, but there are major advantages online that even the most opulent spot on the Vegas Strip can’t compete with. Who doesn’t love playing six hands at once, all while catching up on your email, watching random video clips, and blasting the hottest tracks without wearing any pants?
You might have noticed that we altered the UltimateBet soundtrack when we joined the CEREUS network. Although many players drown out the sounds when they hit the tables, our sounds help keep players up to speed. I always thought silence was supposed to be golden, but apparently some players miss the old effects.
We have some changes in store, but we need your feedback. What would you like us to do about the sounds?
• Would you like us to restore the sounds from the old UltimateBet?
• How would you feel if we created a whole new soundtrack filled with more sound effects that are both sweet and soothing? Maybe that’s an exaggeration, but what if the sounds were fun and functional?
• Perhaps you couldn’t care less and usually mute the UltimateBet soundtrack and bellow your own tunes.
Whatever your perspective is, we want to hear it! We always welcome your input. Feel free to contact support or post your feedback directly into the comments section of this blog. Our music isn’t going to snag any Grammy nominations, but we hope you’ll still chime in with your sound thoughts.
