I feel like I was on a dream and it finished a bit too soon! Now that I am back in Costa Rica doing my blog again and I can’t believe that just a week ago I was at the beach with a background sound of the chips flowing at the poker tables in Aruba.
First of all, this was my first live event and I never thought the energy you feel there would be so intense. Second, I truly got to see a whole new face of what we do on a daily basis; all the guys that attended are in a super nice mood; I guess the scenery and environment there help to create this. And last but not least, there were some insane parties and activities that took place alongside all the poker.
On that note, I can surely say that the Icons where the ones who had the best deal there is! You can ask any of them that attended this year about the nice treats and good parties we had for them….. or, you can just take a sneak peak:

Plus, it is not bad at all to be able to enjoy the breaks of the event chilling at the Icon Lounge. We had food, drinks, games and some comfy couches to chill and talk poker. But there are not enough blog posts or cool pics that can really translate the environment that I lived there, this just doesn’t cut it! So as a personal goal I promise that next year I will get more of you guys to go there, you will thank me later. Think of it this way, even if you don’t have a seat to the main event we do have live satellites to it and many other tourneys and SnGs; plus you can give multipurpose to the trip and make a nice vacation of it. We expect all you guys to join us next year so we can have some Aruba Aribas!

Cameras are ready and lights are on. Sin City has been invaded in the last few days by legions thirsty of Poker. More than a dozen bracelets have been already claimed as the party starts getting bigger, but everyone is looking for the maximum expression of glory a poker player can ever imagine. Yes, you know what I´m talking about! The No Limit Holdem Main Event!
Everything points to believe this year we will see the largest field in history, exceeding the 2006 record of more than 8,000 players. I just can imagine myself in there, sitting at the T.V. feature table, pro´s at both sides. Suddenly the eyes of the crowd turn towards one of the entrances and a big guy with a bunch of girls is causing comments all around! There he is… it´s Phil! Some people love him, some people hate him, but we all know he is a great player.
Maybe he is not the most modest! maybe, let´s face it, who would be with 11 bracelets? I´m sure I wouldn´t! Anyway, there he comes, turning heads all over the Rio, whaaaat? he takes the sit next to me!!!
How can you play optimally when faced to such situation? I mean, think about being first timer, TV table, pro´s and if it wasn´t enough to make you nervous, Phil is next to you! It´s time to wake up, no aces cracked, how come I wasn´t able to bluff Phil? I´m mad I couldn´t continue sleeping to see what´s next on my dream, haha. Not that bad for a night.
By the way, if it´s among your plans to conquer a final table this November, don´t forget about our $10,000,000 bonus promotion, it´s not a mistake, there are 7 zeros in that number!

Well, the Play to Party Promotion ended and we now have 10 lucky winners heading to the 2009 Kandyland Party at the Playboy Mansion on June 6th. CONGRATULATIONS!
We ran the “Play to Party” Promotion for a few months and as always…lots of excitement got dealt at the tables week by week… we closely followed the competition and definitely noticed that the traffic was awesome, lots of players joining it to achieve the final prize, a $6000 freaking package full of lust and excitement.
What can I say? We just finished talking with all of them, and they are really looking forward to attend the party, actually at this point some of them can’t even believe what they are about to see in a few days. Well I really envy them LOL, this is just a dream come true!
Limo Pick Up, Luxury Hotel, VIP tour of the Playboy Mansion led by a Playmate, luxury drinks… basically the VIP treatment our players deserve.
Definitely the wildest party of the year… Congratulations to all the winners!
