Hey Guys,
I cannot believe that I will be in Vegas in less that 2 weeks. I am so looking forward to catching up with everyone again. As I will be there for 8 weeks I am going to get into the Vegas spirit. The Vegas spirit to me (aside from all the cocktails) would be to see some shows.
MGM Grand has Fleetwood Mac, David Copperfield, KA Cirque du Soleil, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood.
Mandalay Bay has The Lion King, UFC, Il Divo, Keith Urban and Pat Benatar.
Caesars Palace has Elton John and Bette Middler
Bellagio has “O” Cirque du Soleil
Venetian has Phantom, Wayne Brady
Mirage has Jay Leno, Love Cirque du Soleil, Ray Romano & Brad Garrett
Palms has Cheech & Chong, The Offspring, Duran Duran, New Kids on the Block
There quite a few options and I am sure there will be a few more hidden gems that I haven’t discovered. On one of my last trips to Vegas I got taken to see Air Supply (I would have had to be taken!), Hootie and the Blowfish (they were great) and Brooks & Dunn (not a country girl, but had an awesome time and was pleasantly surprised). Make the time to see a show, it is a great Vegas experience.
Another Vegas experience that you have to do is go to a Vegas club, words do not describe it. My birthday falls during the WSOP and I am thinking I will start off having beverages at Fix at Bellagio, they do the best passionfruit mojitos and then move to Pure and get a cabana outside
I love having choices and this is definitely the town to offer plenty.
See you there and the countdown has begun.
Cheers,
Miss C

My Vegas trip was pretty short, just 5 days but was filled with nonstop action, and activities. The very first day I participated in Doyle Brunson’s 2nd annual beer pong tournament at hogs and heifers bar in downtown Vegas. UltimateBet was represented well with me, Scott Ian, p0ker h0, Tracy Scala, Hollywood Dave, and Wiscomurray all attending. I was teamed up with Scott for the tournament, which unfortunately for us was short lived. In the first round we played 2 bouncers from the bar, who by the way were defending champions and it showed. They started off hot and it looked like we were going to get destroyed. We actually made it close at the end and had a legitimate chance to win it if we had made just 2 more shots. Scott had never played the game before but he was a natural…no surprise that a rock star would be good at a drinking game. It was an awesome time, with a lot of cool people.
The next day I played the $500 6 max circuit event at Caesars. This tournament was a bit strange in the fact that for the first 6 hours of this tournament every single thing I did seemed to work out perfect. I picked up and had to show down so many big hands early, that a few hours in, it didn’t matter if I had cards or not. I won pot after pot building my stack from 8k to 36k with small pot after small pot with nothing big ever risked. Just when it seemed like I would cruise deep into this tournament, it all came crashing down in 1 big hand. With the blinds at 300/600 a fairly aggressive player made it 1800 from second position. I was on the button and looked down to see KK. The raiser had close to the same stack as was a very aggressive player after the flop even when he missed. The player directly behind me was a player who seemed like he was going broke soon. He was sitting on 14k and I thought it was very likely he might squeeze here as well. He had all of his chips in the middle at least 6 times before this hand. So I decide to flat call and try to trap and win a big pot. The guy behind me immediately raised to 6200 of his 14k. When it folded back to the original raiser he thought for about 20 seconds before announcing he was all in. This became a monster pot for this time in the tournament. Part of me wanted to lay this hand down. Not because I thought I was behind, but because everything had gone right with very little risk so far. I really didn’t want to gamble for all of my chips at this point. It reminded me of some of the things I have heard Phil Hellmuth say in the past, that at the time I heard them I thought were absurd. He was talking about not wanting to get all his money in even though his hand was dominant because he knew he would find better spots with less risk. This all made sense to me at that particular point in time. I knew my hand was good but yet I wasn’t sure I wanted to call. I decided to make the call, and the guy who made it 6200 folds with almost half of his money in the pot. My KK was up against AK and I lost the hand when an ace came on the flop. He had me covered by 900 chips. I went to the rail, and he went to chip leader in the tournament with over 80k in chips. I can’t wait to discuss this hand with Phil next time we are together. I’ve never wanted to fold a hand that I knew was dominant so badly in my life. I know this sounds crazy, as it did to me before I was put in a spot where I felt like I had control of the table like I did that day.
The only good news that came about busting from this tournament is that I got to attend the UB dinner at Fix at Bellagio we had for our Bellagio super sat package winners. Miss C put on a great dinner party and we had a great time drinking and eating, and drinking some more as we got to chat with the winners. When we were finished there we all headed over to play the drunken 11pm tournament at Caesars. Luckily for me I was out in the first 20 minutes so I could get some rest for the next day.
The next day I went and played a $2500 satellite for the 25k WPT championship. As it turns out I really didn’t need to get sleep at all for this tournament as I was out within the first hour when twice I flopped top 2 pair, and twice got caught on the river. Grrrrr
My trip overall was an A+ for fun, and a D- for poker. It’s hard to pay the bills with fun last time I checked, but I guess it could be worse. Besides, I’ll have 7 weeks in Vegas starting late May. I’m sure I will get my fill then.
Good Luck
Debo

Well hello UB land!
As always – its been a busy few weeks. Many members of Team UB found themselves in Vegas for the Bellagio event. Well at least that is what they tell me – but for some reason, I think a certain Beer Pong on Monday April 13th could have had something to do with it!! Click here and then follow the link under Red Carpet Events to view some pictures from the event. YES – that really is Team UB taking one for the team! UB logos everywhere – I love it and am very proud of my pros!! (even though I think all they won was a hangover!)
But there was business in Vegas! UB held a pro/player dinner before the main event. In true UB fashion – our pros showed the players the UB love! Dinner at Fix followed by seemingly copious amounts of poker strategy (and when I say poker strategy…what I really mean is alcohol!) I think a good time was had by all and there is video footage to prove it! Check it out here! I personally would like to thank the Team UB members for showing our players a good time – and a special thank you goes out to my pro that called me at 4:30 AM after the festivities were seemingly over!! Love you Team UB!!
So ANOTHER week goes by on the Celebrity Apprentice. I have a few words for the great Joan Rivers!! Wow – this is gonna get personal. I’ve heard that she has said some fairly horrible things about Annie and poker players in general. I take that all very much to heart as I know how generous and kind poker players can be!! Annie stood her ground and continues to play with dignity and respect. I’m not sure that I could pull that off! I would wanna pull out my hairspray and do some collateral damage to Joan Rivers’ face! Ok – I digress! Go Annie Go!! Sunday’s episode should be a good one!
Well plans are rolling for the upcoming WSOP. I will be a great series with Phil going for #12; it is his 20th anniversary since winning his first main event bracelet and it is UB’s 10th anniversary. As you can see – lots to celebrate. Details are being finalized! Hope to see you all in Vegas!
Last but not least – I am very happy to announce that the UB podcasts will be launching in May! Stay tuned for details. Our very own Hollywood Dave will be hosting these entertainment filled interviews – and since when is HD ever boring?? That would be NEVER!!
Ok – that’s all she wrote. Be back next week. Have a good one (and in the words of the great HD) Rock on!

Hello Everyone,
I am coming to you live from Las Vegas. I arrived last night and this city still takes my breath away, I swear to God my heart stopped beating for just a second when I saw that skyline. I was lucky enough to land at night time and I do think it is the best time to see the city…all those lights. I cannot believe I have not been here in 3 years. Guessing I will make up for that during the WSOP. I love this city!
This time round I have done something totally out of the ordinary and I am staying at the Signature Suites at the MGM Grand and I have to say they are a bit special. Every room is a suite and included is room internet (very important as the daily rate at most big hotels is hideous), gym (if you are here for a long time, you need to clear your head) and kitchen (nothing like a home cooked meal). If you are here for longer than a week, definitely look at staying here.
UB is having drinks and nibbles for their WPT satellite winners at Fix in the Bellagio. It is a great chance for you to mingle with our Pros. Quite a few of them will be there in full force. It will be a great time to ask some questions or even just have a chat. From experience I can tell you they are very social and I guarantee they will make you laugh.
Today is going to be a great day…I am planning on catching up on all the emails I missed over Easter and I also get to catch up with Scotty Nguyen, I haven’t had a drink with him or heard that familiar Scotty trademark “Baby” in a year and a bit. I can’t wait to get to Bellagio and see the other notable faces. Such an awesome city, makes life so convenient:) Then there is the drinks with the qualifiers and pros, all in all a great day!
Fingers crossed some of our qualifiers will get into the 25K WPT and make the money. I will be cheering from the rails. If time permits and it should in a 24 hour city I would like to play some poker. Lately, I have been playing a few sit and gos with friends and I have so got a feeling for it. Wish me luck! Let’s put it in perspective, the more I win, the more I can add to my purchases.
Next week, I will up update you on the Vegas trip and let you know all the plans for UB in Vegas during the WSOP.
Cheers,
Miss C
