Annie Duke on Celebrity Apprentice – Pro Corner Update

Hello fellow UB’ers. 

Could it really be all about me? Just for once?? – nah!

Well another month is upon us.  March already?  It won’t be long before the snow melts (well at least here in Canada) and the spring flowers will start to emerge. I LOVE the Spring – even though it usually means i’m another year older!   Yep – it’s P0ker J0’s birthday this Sunday.  I’m looking forward to some down time which may or may not include some red wine and listening to some……yep……Bon Jovi! 

So – even MORE important than my birthday on Sunday is the premiere of the Celebrity Apprentice II.  Catch Annie Duke across the boardroom table from Donald Trump.  I’ve mentioned this show in previous BLOGs but now that it is imminent – I won’t lie – I’m so excited to watch it.  UB has come up with a pretty cool promotion to support the show.  You can play alongside Annie on Sundays on UB for a chance to win a free trip to Aruba!  Click here for the details - and spread the word.  Go Annie go!

Speaking of Annie and how competitive she is, did you read the prop bet she has with Hollywood Dave?? Check out his BLOG here.  How crazy are my pros?  This will be a fun one to follow!

So speaking of BLOGs, I found Phil Hellmuth’s this week a good read.  He refers to a hand he called at the Premiere Poker League III.  Check it out here.  I loved watching that video link!

Speaking of video links (notice all the segues i’m doing today?? what’s with that??) Anyway – coming soon you will be able to see your pro blogs in video format.  You’ll be able to know the exact week that Hollywood Dave changes his hair color or if P0ker H0 has a zit or if Scott Ian changes the color of his beard.  Sooooooooo much to look forward to.

The Best Damn – UBOC – Poker League

UBOC kicks off tonight. No need to harp on it.  It’s great.  You should get a piece of the prize pool.  $50,000 tongiht if you’re interested in some pot-limit Omaha rebuy action….  And, in case oyu missed it, check out the UBOC leaderboard.

After much ado and with a bit of controversy from the cast, Best Damn Poker Show kicks off this Monday on FSN.  Repeats will be Wednesday nights.  Season II is definitely a twist from what we saw Season One.  I think you’ll like the shows. The players, coverage and competition format is much better this year. When preparing for series two we adjusted, based on player feedback, to show more poker and to add more unique content online.

You can already see the cast and tons of videos from the auditions and season I, but starting January 12th you can visit the UB BDPS site to catch Ultimate Hand reviews by Phil and Annie, outtakes, and some profile clips on each participant.

Lots of reasons to watch since each of the players has an amazing story.  Jon for example, a highly commissioned sculptor for the US Olympic Team, just finished a new design for Annie Duke’s logo.  I should post the logo here, but you’ll have to wait and see it soon on Annie’s new website.

Speaking of Annie… There’s a new project she’s been talking about…. UB Poker Leagues.  Pair up, take on the other teams in the league, and win some cash.  I like the setup.  Plus, this is another chance to talk some trash and make it interesting by challenging other team.  They’ve set it up for UBOC as well, with some novel prizes.  Pocketfives posted a full article about this, mentioning a UBOC prize of a trip to a castle in northern Idaho.
