You know here at UB we are all about our players and having them show off their skills anytime we can. That is why we have these promos like the UB 500 Race! Because even though we are a tight community we know how competitive you guys are. And on that note, let me tell you it was not all about the great cash prize that we gave out, we also had a really special deal for the top places of the promo.
About one or two weeks before the race finished we dropped the bomb on the top 10 players that had been at those positions for the longest: if they were to place on the top 3 places, we would have a cover and spread for them at Online Poker Pro Magazine!
This was really a huge deal and all of them were very much exited. So the last day of the race all of us were constantly checking on the culmination of this long event. For two months players had fought their way to the top and it can be nerve breaking having to maintain a steady game play for such a long period of time. The fight was on and it was amusing to see how “DURZAAAA” passed the top two players at the last minutes of play. And such is poker, on minute you are on the top spot and the next you might not. With a blink of an eye “DURZAAAA” took the victory home and will be featured alongside with “SOUTHCJAY7” and “VOSS1313” as the winners of this great event!
So you should be ready, because at anytime we can contact you asking for a brief statement on a promo like the Bad Beat Jackpot or the UB Race or ask for your picture to post it on our lobby or on a magazine. Have your best pictures ready and let you inspiration flow because we want to show your talents off! And of course, we also invite you to keep an eye open and check to see when these great players are featured on Online Poker Pro Magazine

So there’s roughly a week and a half left of the race – looking forward to it coming to an end but at the same time I can’t let up. I’m currently in 7th, trying to work my way up another spot or two. I got some stiff competition though, trying to battle AIRKID3 and DURZAAAA for position. Its been an easy race thus far in terms of things falling my way – I ran real well during this race so it made it much easier – had I ran real bad this would be very rough. I’m loving these races though and hopefully AP/UB offers more of these in the future – they really keep things interesting and allow everyone to make out well. I’ll post my final entry when the race ends – GL to all!

So we recently passed the half way marker during this race cards promotion and things are going well. I’ve been on a major heater over the past month+, giving me about 15k+ in profits from playing since the race cards began. I’ve been working hard and slowly been moving up the ladder – hopefully I can make top 5 when all is said and done, but that is going to require a lot of work. One thing that definitely helped me with this race card was pacing myself – a lot of players who were higher up on the race have since burned out – some played higher buy in games thinking they were winners and reality caught up quick, while others burnt themselves out early on. Pacing is so important in a 2 month race – this game can be mentally draining and turning out 70 hour weeks will take you down quick. I’ll post again when the race comes to an end hopefully with my name near the top!

So the 4th installment of race cards has came around and entails a 2 month long race rather than the standard month long race. I always look forward to these races as the bonus money is amazing and it really pushes me mentally to go beyond what I have done in the past. It’s going to be crazy racing for 2 months – usually in the one month race after 3 weeks you’re dying for it to end – this time after 4 weeks when you’d be able to relax we’re only going to be half way there.
We shall see who has the mentality to keep going despite the cards not going their way and the grueling hours of sitting in front of the computer. My strategy is to put in the hours but not overdue it – this isn’t a sprint it’s a marathon, so I don’t want to come out of the gate too fast and burn out. Pacing yourself is definitely key to getting top 3 in these things. Anyways I’m off to a good start and looking forward to what the next couple of weeks bring me – good luck to everyone and may the best win

Please notice that the “WSOP Steps” is one of our newest promotions. They consist of 9 player Sit n Go tournaments, which award tickets to other step tournaments.
The best part of this promotion is that when you win a ticket, it will be stored in your account, and you will be able to use it whenever you wish.
For example, if you win a ticket to a Step 4, you just need to choose any WSOP Step 4 and register using your ticket.
In order to use your ticket to register in the next event, you choose the step that you want to play, click on “Register”, this way the system will display a window where it automatically gives you the option to pay with: US Dollars, Tournament Dollars or your ticket; then choose the ticket, which is the third option, and you will be registered.
Do not forget to review the “Prize Info” tab located in the tourney lobby. In this tab, you can see which step you will be able to play if you placed within the firsts places.
Remember that you need to choose the same Step number as the ticket number you won; otherwise, the system will not give you the option to use your ticket.
Please feel free to read more about these events in the following link;

Please send us any question or suggestion that you may have to support@ultimatebet.com

My experience at the Superbowl was definitely a good one. Ultimate bet contacted me about the promotion to get the tickets right before Christmas time and I traded in points to obtain the tickets. The tickets were to be either picked up in Tampa or delivered to your hotel during the week of the Superbowl.
Ultimate bet makes sure they keep in touch with you to let you know what is going on. They sent me a jacket, a hat, and a shirt as well as for the guest who I brought along. On the day before the Superbowl we went to pick up our tickets from Tony Luisi who was definitely a nice guy. The pick up location was on the same street as the stadium so it was very easy to get to. Also when we got there Tony gave me and my guest a bag with Superbowl memorabilia as well a pass for parking. The parking pass for no additional cost is good because stadium parking is $50. I also ordered the NFL on location party from Ultimate bet through points redemption. So I was able to pick up the tickets for those as well at that time. On the day of the Superbowl I was offered a drink by Tony and a manager from Ultimate bet, however my guest really wanted to go to the NFL experience right away so I had to turn down the request. Although it was definitly a good gesture and maybe another time I would definitly take them up on this offer. Right outside the stadium there is a lot to see from football beginnings to present times. The NFL on location was definitly the place to eat because the open bar with the food was worth it. Cause if you were hungry at the stadium you would be paying $10 a beer and $9 a cheeseburger. When we went to the stadium it was awesome because our seats were on the 50 yard line 23 seats up from the field. So I was able to see everything during the game and it was definitly an experience. It definitly is much better to be at the stadium cause you can see all kinds of things you don’t normally see. Like how the recievers run their routes and the sidelines. The half time show was awesome because whenever Bruce Springsteen plays you know it has to be good. Everyone was standing up during the 4th quarter because of how crazy the game got. The majority of the fans may have been for Pittsburgh but towards the end I don’t think anyone really cared who won because both teams were putting on such a great show.
After the game we got to go back to the NFL on location to eat more food. So that party is something I recommend cause it is better to enter the stadium and leave on a full stomach.. Also because traffic is crazy in the beginning so you might want to wait a while before leaving. Overall this was a great experience and if you can take advantage of this offer then I recommend it! Cause how many times will you get the go to the Superbowl?

If you’re looking for three words that cause controversy, you may want to stutter “Bad Beat Jackpot”. Believe me, there is no other promotion as controversial as this one. From my own experience, whenever that awesome pop-up has hit my screen announcing a new winner, the phones have gone off the hook. Suddenly, all players ask why they did not receive a share of the Bad Beat Jackpot… It’s total chaos.
Well, we really want to simplify things for you. Currently, there are too many requirements that need to be fulfilled in order for a player to receive a share of the Bad Beat Jackpot. We definitely want to get rid of some of them ’cause we hate to disappoint you when we explain why you did not qualify for some cash. That’s why we are turning the table: now, you only need to have actively played in one hand which collected Jackpot rake in order to get your share! You read correctly: if you are playing a hand and you have contributed to the Jackpot, you will get your part! (provided you qualify based on the requirements) For the full rundown on how the Bad Beat Jackpot works, the rules, requirements, terms and conditions, follow this link!
So, we’re making it even easier for you to take advantage of this great promotion that has awarded more than $30 million! At Ultimate Bet we care about you and everything we do is intended to make you happy. We really hope this decision will.
Now, all you need to do is jump to a table and check why getting beat has never felt any better.

Friday, December 19, 2008 - UB Marketing
Today the UB marketing office kicks-off our first installment of the secret santa gifts. I get to gift to one of the cleaning staff, and for her first gift I was considering giving her a limited edition Poker Brat UB Hockey Jersey. Then I realized she’s probably never seen a hockey match – does it matter? – and she may not know who the poker brat is – is this possible?. Oh, and I probably shouldn’t gift away company merchandise. So, her first gift is a cactus plant for her house and a white chocolate.
You probably don’t feel like sending a gift for the UB-marketing-office-cleaning-lady, but maybe you’re in a holiday spirit. Well, tomorrow (DEC 20th) we can all play poker and feel good about it, just like any other day but we’ll be giving to a cause.
Annie Duke (and possibly Don Cheadle, though not confirmed) will be hosting an online tournament to raise funds for AUFA and the children of DARFUR. It starts at 7:30 and has a $2+0 buyin – yes, that’s $0 fee – with a donated prize pool of cool gear: XBOX 360 Elite system, Apple iPod Touch 32GB, Sony Handycam Camcorder, Nintendo DS, $200k GTD entry, Sony 8′ Portable DVD, and on and on and on.
But, what else can we do to feel good at the tables? Winning the $200K on Sunday probably feels good. Hitting blackjack on your first hand feels good. How about securing a seat to a ONE MILLION DOLLAR Championship event? We’re about to announce a 100-seat guaranteed tourney that’ll take place a week from tomorrow, on December 27th at 17:30 ET. Earn your entry to the championship in 2008 and play in 2009. That would make me feel good.
I wonder if the cleaning lady knows we have a ONE MILLION DOLLAR event in January. What would she say if I told her? What would she say if I told her we have THREE million dollar events in January? Would she think less of my cactus and white chocolate gift?

Oh happy day, CEREUS is finally here. And, while the “strongest technology on earth” powers UltimateBet and hosts thousands of players, we’re looking forward to December promotions. Bigger and Better. Here’s the scoop…
The WILD CARDS Super Bowl promotion is already visible and available. Mid-field seats. Yes. Forgot to put this detail on the UB website. I’m looking at the stadium layout right now and these are in the front two sections, mid field, lower half near to the turf. Ten tickets plus travel and accomodations to Super Bowl XLIII. It’s a shame the marketing team can’t play for these.
So, what’s coming after thanksgiving?
• The points race will be back. We had it in October for $115,000 but for
December the prize pool total is $220K.
• UB players will have access to GIZMO tourneys where you enter with
UltimatePoints and win anything from a Plasma TV to an HP touchsmart computer – very cool.
• UBOC. We’re getting close and there’ll be even more options to qualify for
any of the events, including a 300-seat guaranteed tournament (right after christmas) to the
UBOC million dollar Championship.
• Tournament leaderboards will be back. We missed them this week, but hey,
even leaderboards need a break every once in a while.
• Poker H0 H0 H0 Christmas special. Need I say more?
Well, the schedule I’m looking at is actually quite long and robust. But you get the idea, tons coming up. We got some great promotion ideas from players through the UB newsletters, maybe we’ll get some here in the comment section
